The Aboriginal Shire of Mapoon is a local government area in Far North Queensland, Australia.[3] It is on the western coast of Cape York Peninsula on the Gulf of Carpentaria. In the 2021 census, the Aboriginal Shire of Mapoon had a population of 432 people.[1]
